I found this amazing place while I was at a concert at the Black Sheep. Chris is super knowledgeable when it comes to cultivation of mushrooms and he will walk a new person step by step. He helped me get my first bag started. The shop has everything from cultures and grow bags, to a community flow hood. This has to be one of the best shops in Colorado Springs. Thank you for everything.

This shop is AMAZEING! The staff are all very polite, knowledgeable, and helpful and they have everything you need to cultivate all different kinds of mushrooms. They do a class periodically for new mushroom growers and will start you out with everything you need to grow mushrooms at home for FREE if you attend their short class on the subject. If your into mycology or want to be this is a fantastic way to get started.

If you're a mycology (mushrooms) fan or interested in natural pharmacology, education, cultivation and social impacts thereof then you HAVE to check out Colonizing Colorado. The owner and his wife are fantastic people with a deep and heartfelt desire to bring the love of mushrooms to the Colorado Springs area. The owner, Chris, is also the president of the UCCS Mycological Society, so he knows his stuff at an expert level. They offer so much more than mushroom supplies. They do cultivation classes, foraging trips, one-on-one advice, dosing education, and more. Chris is always willing to help in your mycology endeavors, so stop in and become part of the colony!

I had an incredible experience at Colonizing Colorado. The owner was genuinely one of the kindest and most knowledgeable people I have met in any shop. The mushroom grow kits and liquid cultures are great and the owner makes the process educational and informative! You can tell the owner really cares about the community through their courses like Foraging 101. I highly recommend this place to anyone interested in cultivating for themselves.
